Made primarily of magnesia or corundum with addition of different proportion of graphite, it is pressed under high pressure with resin as binder as well as various additives, and treated with low temperature. Based on different material used, it is divided as magnesia carbon RMC and alumina magnesia carbon AMC.
(1) Magnesia carbon bricks CARBONMAG RMC
It is primarily made of magnesia and graphite flake. It has excellent resistance to basic slag corrosion, high temperature molten steel splash, thermal shock, anti-flaking as well as thermal conductivity. It was widely used as working lining in steel smelting convertor, electric furnace and ladle. Marvels RMC brick used as working lining of RH degasser has been developed and used for more than 10 years, is very mature.
(2) Alumina Magnesia Carbon brick ZCARBONMAG AMC
It is primarily made of corundum, magnesia and graphite flake. It has excellent resistance to slag attack, high temperature molten steel penetration and splash, thermal shock and anti-flaking as well as superior high temperature mechanical flexibility. It was widely used as wall and bottom working lining in the ladle.
(3)Ultra low carbon magnesia alumina spinel brickZCARBONMAG UMS
It is developed by Marvels and made primarily of magnesia, magnesia alumina spinel bonded with resin. It has excellent resistance to thermal shock, vacuum damage and slag attack. It was used as the working lining of RH degasser and the proper material for chrome free RH degasser.
